AMARILLO, Texas (KFDA) - Temperatures will run well above average through the weekend. The average high for Amarillo this time of year is in the low 80s. Highs across the Panhandles will be in the low to mid 90s on Saturday and mid to upper 90s on Sunday. Expect sunshine through the weekend and late on Sunday in the eastern part of the region there is a small chance of a few thunderstorms developing near the Texas/Oklahoma border which could be strong. Any storms that do manage to form would move quickly to the east. Temperatures come back down into the 80s with a dry forecast next week.
